

was born on August 30, 1944 in Ennis, TX to Roy Richard Pruett Sr. and Montia Ve Stanfield.
Jerry was raised in Ennis and eventually married Cynthia Jean Hill on December 8, 1975. They both lived in Mesquite, TX.
Jerry is preceded in death by: Father, Roy Richard Pruett (Da), Mother, Montia Ve Pruett, along with 2 brothers, Roy Richard Pruett Jr. (Richard), and Ronald Lee Pruett, His beloved wife Cynthia Jean Pruett and Step-Son David Lockhart as well as several other beloved family members.
Jerry is survived by: daughter Sally Jean Staubach and husband Sean, daughter Mary Helen Kibel and husband Ed, and Step-Son James Lockhart.
Grandchildren: Trevor Staubach and wife Jessica, Chasity Staubach and boyfriend Brandon Neal, Thomas Moore and wife Katie, Lacey Mims, and Step grandchildren James Lockhart Jr, Dustin Lockhart, Cody Lockhart, Benjamin Lockhart, Nicolas Lockhart, Michael Lockhart, and wife Bre, and Amber Lockhart.
Great Grandchildren: Thomas Moore Jr. (T.J.) and Bentlee Moore.
Jerry served in the Air Force from July 28, 1966 to July 27, 1970. While in the Air Force he worked on the big cargo planes. Jerry went overseas during the Vietnam War for 1 year. While the Vietnam War was going on he was stationed in Japan and rode bikes on the mountains and ate chocolate covered grasshoppers.
Jerry had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies. His favorite pastimes included bowling and gardening with his beloved wife Cynthia. He had a particular interest in bird watching and would often research facts about the birds that visited their yard. Among the frequent visitors were hummingbirds, woodpeckers, various finches, and even an owl that took up residence in their garage.
When it came to food, Jerry had a soft spot for Mexican cuisine. He would happily devour any dish placed before him, but his all-time favorite place to indulge in Mexican food was Martinez Restaurant.
Music held a special place in Jerry's heart. Whether it was playing malt shop favorites from the oldies or listening to country tunes, he found solace and joy in various genres. Jerry was known for his tenderhearted nature and would often shed tears during love songs.
Above all else, Jerry cherished his family. He would tell his daughter Sally that their presence meant more to him than any material gift. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by loved ones.
Jerry had a few favorite places where he felt most content. He loved attending car races, going for drives with his partner, and simply being at home with family and friends.
Throughout his career, Jerry started as a milkman and then became a bus driver for Dart.
Among Jerry's proudest moments was the birth of his daughter Sally in 1977. Also in 2018, he was thrilled to discover another daughter, Mary, and often expressed that he had lost a wife but gained a daughter.
Jerry spoke to everyone and never met a stranger. He could talk to a stranger for even 30 minutes to an hour. Jerry always opened the door for everyone.
Gerald Pruett (Jerry) will be remembered for his zest for life, his love for family, and his gentle, compassionate nature. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. May he rest in peace.
