Grace L Askins

Grace L. Askins went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2017. She was born in Lorenzo, Texas on January 20, 1926 to Charles Madison Locker and Bessie (Cowart) Locker. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband Geraldine (Jack) Askins; 9 brothers and sisters; her daughter-in-law Margo Askins and her son-in-law Bobby Albright. Left with cherished memories are her daughter, Patricia Albright; son, Gerald Askins; daughter, Julia (Askins) Johnstone; 7 grandkids; 7 great grandkids and numerous nieces, nephews and other family loved ones. Grace faithfully served her country with honor in the United States Army, stationed in Great Britain during World War II. She was also a beautician who owned and operated P&H Beauty Salon in Dallas for over 50 years. Grace enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was known by her family as Mama, Memaw or Mimaw. Her family was her pride and joy. She loved being with them and taking care of them. She held her family close in her heart and always said to them, “Ya’ll Take Care of Each Other.” The family will receive friends at a visitation 6-8 pm Monday May 1, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, Texas. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday May 2, 2017 at Mesquite Church of Christ, 400 W. Davis, Mesquite, Texas. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Seagoville, Texas where Grace will be laid to rest beside her husband Geraldine (Jack) Askins in the Garden of Roses.
