Pastor Jimmy Lafayette Nut Sr. was born on April 15, 1965, in Dallas, Texas, and went to be with Jesus on November 27, 2021, at the young age of 56. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Ray Nutt and Annie Marie Nutt.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Carol Nutt, proud father to his children Tabitha Cline, Brandy Mizell & husband Steven, Jimmy Nutt Jr. Miranda Tillman and countless bonus kids. He was a loving Papa to his grandkids Daylen Horton, Jayden Horton, Kaylob Horton, Mason Mizell, Carter Mizell, Destiny Cline, Sabrina Cline, Jimmy Nutt III, Bryson Johnson, Kennadie Turner, Amari Gulley, along with many bonus grandkids. Jimmy was also blessed to be Papa to great-grandchildren Kenliegh Horton, Dallas and Cason. Siblings Andy Nutt & wife Kathy, Frances Cummings & husband Terri, Brenda Horton& husband David, Kenneth Nutt and Linda Lamb.
Jimmy was a Pastor at the Rock of Ages Church for many years and loved serving the Lord with all his heart. He also was the proud business owner of Covenant Contractors for more than 20 years, and during this time he was so loved by his customers that many would consider him a friend.
Anyone that knew Jimmy knows that he adored his wife Carol, his children, and most of all loved being a Papa to all his grandkids.
Jimmy enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family at gatherings, cooking, playing games, basketball, volleyball, swimming in the pool or at the lake taking everyone around on his boat. He also loved to be outdoors fishing, hunting, and riding his beloved Harley.
Jimmy loved to have fun, put a smile on people’s faces and live every day to the fullest.
Today we celebrate the life of Jimmy Nutt Sr., The husband, The dad, The Papa, The Legend and the legacy he created.
A funeral service for Jimmy will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Rock of Ages Church, 12715 Kleberg Rd, Dallas, TX 75253. Following the funeral service will be an interment at 2:30 PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 1000 S. Hwy 175, Seagoville, TX 75159.
Jimmy will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 1000 S. Hwy. 175, Texas 75159.
