John "Johnny" Matlock

John “Johnny” Matlock Born January 3, 1934 in Kemp, Texas and passed away January 2, 2015 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 80 to spend his 81st Birthday in Heaven. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Carolyn Matlock and his parents John and Juanita Matlock. Survived by son John Allen Matlock II, daughter Cindy Lynn White and husband Kevin, son James Paul Matlock and wife Kristin, 6 grandchildren Paden, Garrett, Cameron, Paul, Gracy and Lauren, and many other family members and friends. John and his wife Carolyn owned and operate the Matlock’s Country Corner store in Combine, Texas where they had many loved friends and customers. John was a custom home builder and master carpenter and built many homes in and around the Combine/Crandall community. He was also a reserve Kaufman County Deputy (Retired) and also served his Country in the United States Air Force. The family takes great pride and comfort in knowing that he is now walking hand in hand with his Lord and Savior in Heaven. Family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Monday January 5, 2015 at Roselawn Memorial Chapel. Home Going Services will be 1 PM Tuesday January 6, 2015 at Pointview Baptist Church in Combine with Bro. Steve Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Hillside where he will be laid to rest beside his wife Carolyn.
