

Lumon Coy Butler (90) of Dallas, Texas went home to be with the Lord on December 25, 2015. He was born in Meridian, Mississippi on November 16, 1925 to Luther Thomas and Winnie Audelia (Smith) Butler. He is preceded in death by his parents his loving wife of over 63 years, Era Faye, an infant daughter, 4 brothers and a grandson. Left with cherished memories is his daughter Linda Sheril Gulley, daughter Myra Faye Tramel, son Stephen Coy Butler & wife Lynn Varie, son John David Butler, 9 grandchildren, 22 great grand children and many, many great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family loved ones. Lumon was a remarkable man with strong family values and an extraordinary work ethic. He always held down two jobs and rarely missed a day of work. He was always making things or fixing something. When his children were small he made a swing set for them that included swings, a seesaw, a slide and a merry-go-round. He also made a playroom for his kids. He painted it pink and used bottle caps to nail the walls together. Lumon had many talents which included sewing. He made clothing for all of his children. Lumon enjoyed deep sea fishing, watching western movies and shows but he was happiest when he was with his family and holding a baby. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6-8pm Wednesday December 30, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00am Thursday December 31, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, Texas. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Seagoville, Texas where Lumon will be laid to rest beside his loving wife in the Valley View Garden. Pastor Brentt Tramel will officiate.
