Mason Hopkins

Mason L. Hopkins passed away on February 21, 2015 at the age of 78. He was born to Lewis and Lucille Hopkins on August 31, 1936 at Mabank, TX. Mason loved the Lord and participated regularly in church activities at Calvary Baptist Church in Seagoville. Gospel singing was very dear to his heart and if he was able to sing and be involved in church, then he was a very happy man. Affectionately known as “Pops” to the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mason also enjoyed quality time with his family and fishing. Preceding Mason in death are his parents, big sister Corina Jones, baby sister Lola Jane Anderholm and son, Mason Eugene Hopkins. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 22 years, Mary Frances Hopkins; son Clyde Walter Hopkins; step-children Margaret Kirkland and Carrol Daniel; son-in-law Terry Kirkland; grandchildren: Michael Gunter, Mason Hopkins, Heidi Latham, Josh Kirkland and Lexy Kirkland; great-grandchildren: Lucas, Mia, Abbie and Emma; brother Beauford Ray Hopkins; aunt Hazle Meradith and a host of extended family and friends that will miss him dearly. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015, 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, TX. Funeral Service will be on Friday, February 27, 2015, 2:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, Seagoville, TX with interment to follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Mabank, TX.
