Ray was born and raised in Lake City, Tennessee and moved to Houston about nine years ago before making his home in Dallas for the past two years. He was a country boy at heart and was very proud to be from east Tennessee and loved the mountains and the beautiful landscape of his home. One of his favorite things was to plant all types of flowers in his garden, especially his favorite petunias. Ray also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp. and loved all things patriotic. He enjoyed all sports, with a passion for Nascar racing. Ray was a carpenter by trade and could do anything that he set his mind too, he was very talented. His greatest pleasure in life was his family and they will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
Preceding him in death are his parents John and Cynthia Bray.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 32 years, Pauline Bray; children: Misty Hawkins Graves (Mike), Mickey West (Sal Migliara) and Crystal Hubbs (James); grandchildren: Tyler, Jordan, Christy, Ashley, Brooke, Jayma, Jayme and Jameson; great-grandchild: Karson; brothers Charlie Smith, Robert Lynn Smith and Darryl Webber; sister: Nancy Goodman; sister-in-law: Bernice Phillips; brother-in-law Larry Joe Phillips; his beloved Peek-a-Pom, Coco and a host of extended family members and friends that will miss him dearly.
