Roland was born on February 3, 1964, in Dallas, Texas, to Robert and Margaret Temple. He grew up with a strong sense of family, loyalty, and love that he carried throughout his life.
On October 4, 1985, Roland married the love of his life, Charlotte Graham Temple, in Seagoville, Texas. Their love story began on January 28, 1985, in Mesquite, Texas, while cruising Galloway Avenue—he in his red Mustang and she in her red Camaro. Their eyes met, and from that moment on, their hearts were one. Together, they shared 40 ½ beautiful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion.
Roland and Charlotte built a loving family and were blessed with two children, Roland Kyle Temple and Kendra Linett Temple Stone. Roland was a proud and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte Temple; his son, Roland Kyle Temple; his daughter, Kendra Linett Stone and husband Jeremy Stone; and his grandchildren, Caitlin Stone, Cameron Stone, Courtney Stone, Starla Stone, Abigail Temple, Michael Stone, and Charlotte Stone. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Neaveh Cantu, Natalie Cantu, and Naomi Cantu.
Roland is also survived by his mother, Margaret Temple; his brother, Curtis Temple and wife Cindy; Mother-in-law, Linda Graham, his brother-in-law, Jimmy Graham and wife Tammy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Roe Temple, and his father-in-law, Jimmy Walter Graham.
Roland graduated from Royse City High School in 1982 and attended Eastfield Community College. He was a certified A/C contractor but dedicated much of his career to the commercial industry as a skilled and respected Building Engineer.
Roland attended church at Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Dallas, where he was baptized and rededicated his life to Jesus. He loved his church and church family.
Roland found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time in his backyard with his beloved dog, Jyngles, sitting around the fire pit, and grilling—always making far more food than any gathering required. He enjoyed trips to the casino for relaxation and had a deep love for travel, especially cruises to Mexico, the Eastern Caribbean, and Alaska. If you asked Roland to go, he was always ready.
He also loved hunting and fishing, though those passions slowed after the loss of his father and father-in-law. In recent years, he found great happiness riding his side-by-side and sharing the countryside with his grandchildren, creating memories that will live on in their hearts.
Above all, Roland will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.
