Carol Joyce Sims

Carol Sims, passed away peacefully on January 22,

2014 surrounded by loving friends and family. Carol

was born in Cushing, OK to Ralph and Verna Brookshire.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Diane.

She attended Oklahoma State University, eventually

moving to the Monterey Peninsula in 1957. Carol

worked at Monte Mart, and advanced to Civil

Service with the cities of Seaside and Salinas.

Carol retired as Deputy City Clerk of the

City of Pacific Grove after 25 years of service.

She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist

Church, Seaside. She was an avid supporter

of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and other local

Organizations.

Carol is survived by her three children:

Audrey Summers of Monterey, Valerie Storm of

Alameda and Alison Brown of Valencia.

Her grandchildren: Ian and Morgan Summers,

Angus Storm, and Zack and Abigail Brown were

the light of her life.

Carol was an avid sports fan, following the A’s

and Giants and loved her weekend ball games.

Her blue eyes, bright smile, and warmth

touched everyone she met. She will be

missed by all who had the pleasure

of meeting her.

We will be celebrating Carol’s life on

March 15, 2014, her 80th birthday.
