

On March 25, 1929, Jesse B. Wilson, Jr., was born to the late Jesse B. Wilson, Sr. and Queen Esther Wilson in Magnolia, Arkansas. He peacefully departed this life on December 30, 2014 surrounded by his family. Jesse enlisted into the United States Army at the age of 17, where he served in World War II and retired after 20 years of service. In May of 1957, Jesse stole the heart of Ms. Audrey Delores Epps at the Madigan Army Hospital in Madigan, Washington. They wed on June 2, 1957. Through this union, they became the parents of one son, Curtis Randolph and one daughter, Debra Renee. In 1962, Jesse and Audrey relocated to Seaside, CA. Jesse became a licensed barber in 1966 and opened the first black-owned barbershop in Salinas “Wilson’s Barbershop”. He also worked weekends at Royal Barber Shop in Seaside for many years. Jesse retired from civil service after 22 years of service. Jesse was a competitive bowler, a free-lance photographer, a lover of political science, appreciator of Jazz and a life member of the NAACP. Jesse Wilson Jr., was the model provider for his family. He was an integral part in the raising and development of his granddaughters, Kalah Renee and Autumn Corine respectively. Jesse was a mentor to some, an uncle to many, a friend and a barber to most. Jesse leaves to cherish his memories: his son, Curtis Randolph Wilson (Sylvia) and his daughter, Debra Renee Wilson; two sisters, Lizzy-Mae Shaw and Betty-Jean Goodwin; two brothers, Walter Ivy Wilson and Donald Ray Jackson; five granddaughters, Shanice Anee Virrueta, Kalah Renee Gaskins, Cymone Audrey Wilson, Autumn Corine Ross, and Jayden Alize Wilson; acknowledges a granddaughter, Victoria Ashley Ross and one grandson, Nolan Blanca Bayard, a God granddaughter, Natasha Antoinette Franklin, and a host of relatives and friends.
