On December 29, 2025, Margaret Ward of Seaside finished her assigned duties as a follower of Jesus and went home to receive her reward. Humanly speaking, she died of Alzheimer’s, which is a paradox for one who spent her professional life in academia as a teacher of Business education.
Margaret’s life was not limited to the classroom, however. She was an active leader among the women of her church, serving in several capacities. She and her husband founded Tarzana Baptist Chapel in greater Los Angeles, but became a member of Lighthouse Baptist, Seaside, upon retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Fenton Ward, and three children, Carla Ward, Robert Ward and his wife Jeannie, all local, and Christopher Ward and his wife, Maria, of Fallan, NV. She leaves seven grandchildren behind: Claire-Marie Wisner of Portland, OR; Laurel Anne Heinig of Bellefontaine, OH; Victoria-Leigh Julien of La Habra, CA; Lance Ward and Noah Ward of Grants Pass, OR; Cassandra Ward and Veronica Lawrie here locally; plus, ten great-grandchildren.
