

Robert Wayne Johnson was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on December 28, 1957 to the union of Dillus and William Johnson. Robert passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very young age when he was baptized at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Robert enlisted in the United States Navy in 1976. He served two tours in Japan, a tour in the Philippines, then returning to Moffet Field where he worked as a jet engine mechanic.
Robert moved to the Monterey Peninsula in 1990 where he met and fell in love with his soul mate Michele Janine Spruell. They were married on August 26, 1995.
Robert, R.J., or Big Bob, as he was affectionately known to many touched everyone’s life. He brought laughter and joy to all he met. Rob was known for his smooth rapping skills, his love of sports, and most of all, his love of playing pool, where he acquired many trophies.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife, Michele Johnson; his two sons, Andre Wiley and RJ Johnson, each of Seaside; his mother, Dillus Belfield, a brother, William Johnson Jr., a sister, Anita Biggs (Lonnie) each of Long Beach; a sister, Tiffanny Johnson, of Los Angeles; an uncle, Levi Belfield, of San Jose; mother-in-law Patricia Lovell, of Carmel Valley; a sister-in-law Amytra of Atascadero; a brother-in-law, Jason Lovell, of Las Vegas. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as his close friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Johnson; and father, William Johnson; as well as Eric Jackson of Union City, who was always as a son to Robert.
