Aaron passed away on May 22nd 2022. He was born in NYC in 1933 to Edward (Isidor) & Rae Nettie Dichter. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Russak Dichter , his parents and his sisters Frances Diamond and Estelle Owin. Aaron was an avid swimmer growing up, and as a student at Bayside High school was the proud lead off swimmer for a relay team that became a NYC champion. He then swam for Adelphi University and was the first in his family to graduate from college. Aaron joined the Army and was stationed across the country at Fort Lewis, WA. On the Jewish New Year, he found his way to Seattle’s Jewish neighborhood to attend services and met the love of his life. Aaron & Edith married in 1957 and Aaron started working for Boeing, eventually as an executive in Boeing Computer Services group. After 20 years at Boeing, Aaron made a career change, becoming a stock broker with Foster & Marshall in Bellevue. Aaron retired as a Vice President with Morgan Stanley at age 72. Aaron enjoyed boating and in his younger years he loved to water and snow ski and was an avid sports fan. As a member of MBYC, Aaron & Edith spent summers cruising the San Juans and into Canada and cruising on the lake with his kids and grandkids. Aaron was a philanthropist and with Edith they established a fund at the Jewish Federation of Seattle, and volunteered with several worthy causes. One in particular that was very personal to Aaron was the LAM Foundation to try and save the life of his daughter-in-law and many other women afflicted with this rare disease. He was past President of the LAM board, on the Board of Directors of KAPS (Kidney Auxiliary of Puget Sound) , served on the finance committee for MBYC, and was a past President of the Meydenbauer Neighborhood Association. Aaron loved to bet the horses, play options in the stock market, vacation in Maui & Palm Springs, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family. Dad/Papa we hope you are enjoying a Grey Goose Martini straight up, bone dry, with olives cruising into the sunset with Edie. Aaron is survived by his children Robin Zambrowsky, and Steve & Gina Dichter, Grandchildren Max Zambrowsky & Denielle Zambrowsky, Lauren & Josh Bensussen, Marisa & Koltin Stratiner, and great grandchildren, Ethan & Jason Stratiner. Donations can be made in Aaron’s name to the LAM Foundation, Jewish Federation of Seattle or KAPS.
A graveside service for Aaron will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Hills of Eternity Cemetery, 520 W. Raye St., Seattle, WA 98119.
