Al has been, and will always be my friend since 1999. I remember the day I first met him and Bill Hamilton. They were both announcing legends in the Edmonds School District at the time.  Thanks to Mike Clemens who brought us together. We became the three amigo's as announcers. When I was informed of his passing I was shocked. He and I had many adventures together, but he turned over Lynnwood announcing over to me. 
He was old school and his style could never be copied. His voice would boom through any venue he was asked to be at. 
I can't even imagine walking into Fred Meyers and hearing his voice say "Hi, can I help you?" The person not even know they were being taken care of by a Hall of Famer, and announcing legend.
Lastly, I witnessed Al fulfill a dream (bucket list thing for him) when he sang the National Anthem at the Little League Junior Softball World Series. He found me afterwards and said in his giddy voice "I did it" and I said I heard it with tears in my eyes. I said thank you, and his reply was " No, thank you" we hugged. 
Thanks Al... You will forever be in my mind and heart. Your voice will always be heard. Tom

I was so saddened this week to hear about Al’s passing. He meant so much to the wrestling community and his voice will sorely be missed at the state tournament, Hall of Fame induction ceremony‘s, and more. His velvety voice will long  be heard in my head whenever I enter the Tacoma Dome.  Rest in peace my friend.

The student-athletes of the Edmonds School District and the State of Washington have lost a true advocate and great supporter of high school athletics.  Al announced basketball, wrestling and football contests for the Edmonds SD for years and has been the voice of the Edmonds SD Scholar Athlete Annual Banquet.  I cannot put into words how much we will miss this wonderful man and the selfless way in which he served.  My condolences to his loved ones.

We are extremely saddened at the loss of another one of our Washington State Hall of Fame members.  Al was such an important part of Mat Classic in addition to his dedication to the sport statewide.  Al will also be missed at the WIAA state football and basketball championships where he provided the leadership for the public announcer teams at those events for many years.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

It's been so long ago I listened to you calling wrestlers to their mats.  The fun we had at the Edmonds Stadium football games.  We never got that golf game I always wanted but was always never able to make.  Hands down, my friend was the best announcer EVER, a true legend that so many heard but never knew who you were.  Until we meet again my friend...on deck at mat #1, Al Rasmussen.

I was so sad to hear about Al. To his family and friends I am so sorry for your loss.  Thank you Al for taking me on my very first Ferry boat ride and our wonderful trip to Leavenworth. RIP my friend.
