In their 12 short years, AJ (a nickname adopted by family), traveled the world visiting Iceland, Europe and Morocco. They hiked across England on the Hadrian’s Wall trail and went caving on Canada’s Vancouver Island. They loved spending time on Kauai with their Oma, Pearl, snorkeling and swimming; in the Adirondack mountains of Upstate New York with Nana and Grandpa fishing and canoeing; and with their Grandma Con in Pennsylvania going for walks and exploring the local museum.
Born in Seattle, AJ attended Broadview Thomson for elementary school and was in the 7th grade at Robert Eagle Staff Middle School. They were an active member of the school community enjoying band, choir, and were excited to do stage crew for the upcoming musical. AJ also loved playing soccer and was a fierce keeper for their recreational team, the Lake City Volts. Attending the Ballard Dojo since age 5, AJ was a purple belt in karate and earned many medals at local tournaments.
AJ was loved by all who met them. Their infectious laugh, warm smile and jokes that made their friends laugh. They loved going to camps, bike rides to coffee shops for matcha and sweets, having sleepovers and "sick hangs". We will always hold this dear sweet child in our hearts.
AJ is survived by: their parents Jen and Josh, and dog Skotta; their second family Kate, Bill, Finn, Barb, and Bob in England; their Nana and Grandpa Joe in Connecticut; Grandma Con in Pennsylvania; Oma Pearl in Hawaii; Seattle grandma Kathy; and their Uncle Stephen and Aunt Mizuho in New York.
A memorial will be held in the Spring of 2026.
