

Alex passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 3 years after being diagnosed with cancer. He was 51 years old. He was born on May 25, 1960 in Olongapo City, Philippines.
He was a caring, attentive, loving father whose life centered around his sons.
Three months after they married, Alex was diagnosed with Cancer. Queennie lovingly stayed by his side, caring for him and lifting his spirits. Their time together may have been short, but it was filled with love, laughter, and strength.
Alex was a good friend who always kept in touch with people- joking with them, sharing stories, and trying to help them when they need it. He would massage people when they were sick and drive them around wherever they needed to go.
Although he was considered the baby, Alex was the caretaker of the family. He worried constantly for his sisters and brothers and called them every day. He also helped take care of all his nieces and nephews at some point in their lives. Their memories of him include caring for chickens, playing basketball, and picking up and dropping them off at school. During family parties he can be found cooking up a storm in the kitchen, relaxing with a beer around the barbeque, and singing karaoke.
He is survived by his wife- Queennie from his second marriage,his stepmother Bessie Bactad, his sons- Michael and Ivan, from his first marriage with Eva Marie Ibero, Sisters- Angelita (Armando) Esposo, Alice (Peter) Abigania, Alma May (Augustin) Mendoza, , Marian (Sanders) Domingo, Brothers- Angel (Marlyn) Bactad, Gino (Alona Lynn) Bactad. Nieces and nephews, Albert, Kristine, Mark (Emma Lynn), Katherine (Julmar Golveo), Anthony, Angel III, Adrian, Ryan John, Kingston, Vincent, Ayana, and Amiel, Grandchildren- Julvanny Kai, Kalia-Mae, and Llewis Eliam. He is preceded in death by his father Angel Bactad Sr and mother Rebecca Aranas Bactad.
