

Son of David and Mary, born 3/12/1916 in Calgary, Alberta Canada, died 5/15/2009 in Seattle, Washington. Preceded in death by wife Anna and daughter Sandra Knight-Burdge. Survived by brother David P., sisters Jean Paulson and Mary Benedetti, sons David, Joe and Charles, daughters Carol McLynne and Annette Williamson, grandchildren, Donna, Bill, George, Shane, Shauntina, Amber, Alex, Cody, Hanna, great-grandchildren, Braden, Cole, Kenlee, Brooklyn, Amanda, Kailin, many other relatives and friends. Alex grew up in Seattle and graduated from Garfield High School in 1935. He was called Bud and Sandy by loved ones. He worked at Safeway grocery until he joined the army during World War II. He served on the frontline in combat and was part of the Normandy landing in France. During boot camp in Texas he met Anna whom he later married after returning from the war. Together they built their home and raised their family of six children in north Seattle and remained married 59 years until Anna's death. Alex worked 35+ years as a driver for Darigold Dairy. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, chopping wood and most of all spending time with his immediate and extended family. He was a hard worker, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved people. In his retirement years he enjoyed trips to Reno and monthly luncheons with his brothers and sisters. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
