Alice Rachel Blomgren

March 26, 1934 to March 3, 2022

Alice passed away on March 3rd surrounded by her loving family after a short illness. Alice was a resident of Vashon Island since 1971, when she and her husband, Bob, built their family home on the west side. Alice raised her three children on the island and was active over the years in many island events.

Alice was born into a Christian home in Lena, Wisconsin and her happy childhood memories remained with her throughout her life. Alice studied at the Michael Reese School of Nursing in Chicago and received her B.S. in public health nursing from the University of Minnesota. She worked for two years as a nurse in Geneva, Switzerland and after her marriage lived for three years in Nairobi, Kenya where her second daughter was born. Alice’s many interests included cooking, gardening, tennis and Bible study, teaching and work with the AWANA children’s club. She is lovingly remembered by all for her hospitality, service to family and friends, love for the Word of God, and life of prayer and faith in her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Alice is survived by her husband, Bob, of 55 years and her three children, as well as 4 grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed.

A graveside service for Alice will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM, at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133.
