Allan immigrated to the United States with his family in July 1963 along with his family and mother onboard the President Wilson ship joining his father and younger brother.
In his younger days, during World War 2, he remembers ducking and hiding as Japanese warplanes flies above him.
A relative was already working with China Air Force that needed mechanics, so he was hired and that gave him a chance to have on the job training to work alongside the United States Air Force, leading to his lifelong passion for warplanes. He worked on the B25, C47, P40, P47, P51, worked on its engines, hydraulics, putting rubber on wings to prevent ice from forming, and starting the warplanes to make sure it starts.
After settled in Seattle, Allan worked as a cook in various Chinese restaurants because of language barrier. He happily retired in 1988.
Allan was a very smart and handyman, he built a desk for his children so they can study; a dog house; a grinder so his wife can grind rice to make Chinese snacks; putted up a basketball hoop in his backyard all by himself, and even a bird feeder that is exact duplicate of his own house, including the colors. He also has built quite a few Mahjong table tops that everyone loves.
His hobbies are Mahjong, Fishing, listening to Chinese Music, or just cruising around town with his family. A jokester, his sense of humor helped him easily make friends.
Allan moved into Kin On Assisted Living in 2019 then moved to Kin On Adult Family Home in 2022 so he can get all the necessary cares he needed.
He was still driving until his early 90’s. He gave up driving because his cars got stolen a couple of times in Chinatown.
At the end, his 50 years old mind finally gave up in his 102 year old body. Even in ER, his brilliant mind still fighting, acknowledging everyone who visited him, answering questions by nodding and shaking his head, smiled when supposed to, and semi opened his eyes to see everyone. He passed peacefully surrounded by all his family members who loved him dearly. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, mother, and all his friends who passed before him knowing he was extremely loved.
He is survived by three daughters, one son, three son-in-laws, one daughter-in-law, four grandsons, three granddaughters, two grand-daughter-in-law, two grand-son-in-law, eight great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, a brother and many other relatives.
Visitation will be on December 19th from 5-8 pm at Butterworth Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on December 20th at 10:00 am at Butterworth Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 12 noon at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
He will be deeply missed, but not forgotten.
