Born on August 23, 1948, to Catalina Aquino and Juan Galsim in Bautista, Pangasinan, Philippines.
Gie went to Santa Catalina in Manila for high school and graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Economics in 1969.
On July 13, 1975, Gie and three of her sisters, Grace, Heidi, Mitchie, and another brother Ike, came to Seattle, Washington to join their parents, older brother Burt, and eldest sister Delia, who were already in the States at that time.
She is preceded in eternal life by her parents Catalina and Juan Galsim, and brother Isaac Galsim.

She was “Auntie Gie” to dozens of nieces and nephews.
She was “Grandma Gigi” to dozens of grandnieces
and grandnephews.
Gie lived a long and joyous life filled with love, family, and friends. She will truly be missed. While we are saddened by her leaving, we find comfort knowing her family and friends who passed before her are celebrating as they welcome and treasure her in heaven. She was a devoted and caring wife, a wonderful and committed mother.
She was passionate about posting on Facebook, taking selfies, cooking for others, going out to eat, shopping, and enjoying with friends and family.
Lord, we pray that she glorified you with her life and in the way she
made use of your blessings. May she find eternal peace. Amen.
