

“Auntie” Annie passed away peacefully on November 8th, 2010, surrounded by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was loved and respected by many for her disciplined life style, work ethic, and devotion to her five siblings and their families. She was born on August 27th, 1914 in Rainier Valley and raised on her family farm in Duwamish. She married John “Johnnie” Yellam in 1947 and lived in South Park for 60 years. They owned a fruit and vegetable stand at the Pike Place Market where they worked side by side until his death in 1976. She then worked for her sister Mary at Carpinito Brother’s and retired in 1980. After, she spent her time driving neighbors to church, dancing on Friday’s at the senior center and working out several times a week at the YMCA. She cared meticulously for her home and yard growing fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers. She was a terrific cook known for her “fried” chicken and baked the most delicious cookies.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Joe D’Ambrosio, and sisters Lucy DiPietro, Mary Carpinito, Angie Bevilacqua and Lena D’Ambrosio.
She is survived by her sister-in -laws Maria D’Ambrosio, Shirley, and Babe Yellam and many nieces and nephews and extended family who loved her dearly.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 11 from 5pm-6:30pm, and Rosary from 6:30pm-7:00pm at Yarington’s Funeral Home 10708 16th Ave SW, Seattle
The funeral will be held on at 11am on Friday, November 12th at St. Thomas Catholic Church 4415 S 140th St. Tukwila, WA
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Lady of Lourdes Catholic church in Boulevard Park, WA.
