

Barbara Jo Stoeck Zagars, aged 84, died peacefully on March 17th, 2024, near her home in Poulsbo, WA. Barbara was born on August 29th,1939 in Seattle, WA. She was the daughter of Katherine Brent Feroe Coscarart and Carl Feroe. She had a sister - Patricia Bouressa - and two brothers - Gary and Paul Feroe. Barbara spent her early life in Wollochet WA and lived briefly in hills above Malibu CA. She attended Highline High School in Burien WA.
Barbara met Jack Stoeck when she was 20 years old and living with her good friend and future sister-in-law Annie on Queen Anne Hill. Jack and Barbara were married for 43 years and had four boys - John, Mark, Matt, and Luke - and lived in Edmonds WA. They were good Catholics. While raising her four boys, she worked full-time at Edmonds Eye Care. She worked there for more than 35 years. She played guitar and sang with some her best friends on Saturdays at 5 p.m. mass at Holy Rosary Church for many years. Jack passed away in May of 2004.
While attending a catholic widow’s support group, Barbara met Don Zagars. They married in 2010 and lived in Issaquah and then Poulsbo WA. Barbara and Don were avid travelers and visited many places throughout Europe, the Pacific and Australia. They loved cruises and tours.
Anyone who has ever met Barbara will say she was one of the kindest, warmest, and most positive people they have ever met. She loved to laugh and would laugh at herself often. She never had a harsh or angry word. Family was at the center of her life, and she always put others needs before her own. Even as a child Barbara took care of others, making lunches for her whole family from a very early age. She was always the selfless caregiver and nurturer.
Funeral service will be held at Holy Rosary in Edmonds on April 5th at 10:30 a.m.
