Bertha M. Cyr a long-time Seattle resident, passed away March 2, 2002. She was born June 22, 1917 in Lyman, WA, the daughter of Frank and Henrietta Meyers. Bertha graduated from the University of Washington Nursing school in 1939. In 1941 she married Daniel J. Patrick. Bertha?s career in nursing culminated as head surgical nurse at Virginia Mason Hospital in 1956. She was an accomplished golfer and was club champion at Glen Acres Golf Club during the 1960?s. Bertha is survived by: Brother Thomas B. Meyers, Camano Island, Sons: Daniel J. Cyr or Portland, OR, Michael J. Cyr , Arlington, WA, Grandchildren: Currin D. Cyr, Bellevue, WA, Elizabeth Cyr, and, Randall P. Cyr, Arlington, WA, Step grandchildren: Kent, Kurt and Kreg Lukens. Bertha was preceded in death by a son Ransom C. Cyr, Sister; Marion Meyers, Brother: Charles G. Meyers. Memorials recommended to Sjogrens syndrome research or the Alzheimer?s Foundation. A commemorative funeral service and reception will be held on Friday March 15, 2002 at 2PM in the chapel of Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Washelli Cemetery.
