Carrie Lynn Payne

Carrie Lynn Payne, 44, passed away May 13th 2014. Born August 13th, 1969 to Jerry and Mary Rucker in Ithaca, New York, she was a lover of animals and quiet reflection, a natural born nurturer and trusted confidant to brothers and friends. She was alert to God's promptings and sought justice and mercy in all her dealings.

Raised in Wichita, Kansas, she attended Wichita State University where she completed coursework in forensics and anthropology and met and married her deepest friend Andrew. Through her work with children and the severely disabled, she supported Andrew as he completed his musical education in Wichita and in Tempe, Arizona, and finally settled with Andrew in Seattle in 1997 where she gave birth to her greatest sources of pride, Ruth and Alden.

Carrie's love of and joy in her family were encompassing, and she was a spirited, unique soul prone to the heights of mirth and acquainted with sorrow. Preceded in death by her grandfather and brother John, she is survived by her husband Andrew, children Ruth and Alden, parents Mary and Jerry, grandparents Dorothy, Ben, and Evelyn, brothers Jim and Dan, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. Carrie will be forever loved and remembered by those she touched.
