Catherine Jane Stone

Catherine Jane Stone, 94, passed away July 19, 2015 in Mill Creek, Washington. Catherine was born on November 02, 1920 to George and Amanda Wolf in Seattle, Washington. Catherine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, James Stone. Catherine graduated from Lincoln High School. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1942 with a degree in Social Work. Later in 1943 she enlisted into the United States Navy as a Wave. She married James Jacob Stone, a United States Army Officer, in Seward, Territory of Alaska, on July 15, 1945. They made their home in Seattle where Catherine was a homemaker.

Catherine was a member of Wedgwood Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post 1, and a past docent for the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle. Catherine is survived by son James (Diane), daughters Loretta, Diane, Louise (Edwin) and Karen (Steven), grandchildren: James, David, Veronica, Kyle, Megan, Matthew and Kevin, and one great grandson, Zander. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County, her loving caregivers from Companion Care of Woodinville and to the staff at Brookdale Mill Creek Retirement Community for her exemplary care and support over the past few months.
