

Char resided in Seattle, WA, for the past 46 years, most of which were in Magnolia. Her life career was with UPS, where she worked in a variety of upper management positions. Char spent many of her work years, traveling on special assignments throughout the country. Char retired from UPS in 2004, after 31 years of service.
Char became committed to Susan G. Komen Puget Sound Affiliate following her own diagnosis of breast cancer, in 2004. She remained a passionate volunteer and advocate for preventative care and treatment for the underserved. Char received numerous awards for her service with Komen, one of which was the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition for her efforts to inspire others to serve.
Char was a dedicated and loving person, who brought fun into every single day. She was best known for her humor and her wit, making the world a better place for all who were around her. She lived by the following two sayings:
• “Choose to be better, not bitter”
• “Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain”
Char was preceded in death by her parents Joy Bell and Richard “Slug” Davis, and her older brother John. Char is survived by her partner Carol Kemp, her brother Rick, and sisters Carolyn, Cindy and Lori. Char also leaves behind 8 nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews. She is affectionately known by her family, as “The Aunt Who Rocks”.
Char’s life celebration will be held Dec. 6, 2014. Information regarding the place and time will be released on private communication.
