He was born on October 28, 1928 in Qyteze, Albania to Greek parents Harry and Eva Christo. In 1947, at the age of 19, Chris forged a path to Greece. Four years later he immigrated to the United States and settled in Seattle. Chris met his wife to be Eftihia (Effie) Xenos and they were married at St. Demetrious in 1960. Together they created a family with the birth of their children Valentina, Harry, and George--the beginning of an incredible legacy.
Chris worked at Doces Furniture as an upholstery manager, before venturing into the tavern business with his wife Effie. They were the proud owners (and local business legends) of the Trolley Tavern in Northgate for many years.
Chris was often recruited by the Seattle court system as a translator for Albanians who could not speak English. He was an active member of the Church, serving as a board member at St. Demetrious, as well as a Chaplin in the AHEPA organization.
Chris is survived by his loving wife Effie, their daughter Valentina Giovannetti and husband Mark, son Harry and wife Laurie Chriest, and son George Chriest and wife Sophia. He is also survived by grandchildren; Anthony and Chris (Giovannetti), Ariana, Troy and Athena (Chriest), and Christopher, Eleni, Harry, Alexa, and Tasso (Chriest).
