
Darrell Nester McCray was born in Oakland, California on March 10, 1938. His parents were Leslie McCray and Francis Ede. Darrell was the second of twelve children.
He studied Elementary and Middle School at Citrus Heights Schools, He then went on to Folsom High School and graduated in 1957. He loved to play sports such as basketball, baseball, and swimming.
After graduating he joined the Army for about 5 years and then went on to join the Navy in 1962 and belonged to the crew of the USS Maddox Destroyer.
His favorite hobby was collecting stamps from several countries of the world.
He was employed in several organizations and he put the best of his knowledge to achieve success.
He worked in the McDonald Corporation as a Chef and gained several awards. He then went to work at Northwest Protective Services Inc. and retired from there in 2004.
After two years of dating, he married Maria Cristina Garcia on January 22 of 2003. She is native of Peru. They established their sweet home in Lynnwood, Washington.
He was a romantic and kind man, always making an effort to show his love and appreciation to her. Although he was a reserved and quiet man, he always tried to show his love for those close to him.
He is survived by his wife Maria Christina Garcia and his 4 brothers; Byron, Larry, James and Chester McCray. Darrell had a kind and generous heart and we find peace by knowing that now he is in a better place.
