

Devaughne Janice Cunningham, was called to her heavenly rest on February 3, 2025. She was a loving wife, sister, mother and friend. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts to the Rev. Floyd Lee Standifer and Genela P. Standifer, she was raised on a farm in Gresham, Oregon with her four siblings. In 1947 the family relocated to Seattle, Washington, when Rev. Standifer accepted an appointment at the Ebenezer AME Zion Church.
Devaughne graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle and attended Seattle Central College. A faithful member of Ebenezer AME Zion Church for many years, she loved fishing, and camping; accompanying her husband and family on many RV trips. She loved to sew and draw, and she loved the fifteen years that she worked at Frederick and Nelson. She also loved hosting barbeque parties, and spending precious time with her 4 children, and many grandchildren. An incredible cook, she was well known for her peach cobbler.
Devaughne was preceded in death by her husband William G. Cunningham Sr., with whom she was married for over 50 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Floyd Standifer, Katheryne Cooper, James Standifer, and Alonzo Standifer. In addition she was preceded in death by her son William Cunningham Jr. and grandson Sir. William Cunningham.
She is survived by her children Vaughnette Looney, Retta Bonner and Gerald Cunningham. Devaughne is also survived by her grandchildren Dwight Smith Jr., Gabrielle Bonner, Marissa Bonner, Darius Cunningham, Deanna Cunningham, Talisa Cahill, Shawntia Horn, Devin Cunningham and Gerald "J.J." Cunningham Jr. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Ananias Smith, Spencer Horn, Camden Cunningham, and a host of many family and friends..
