
Elsie May Bennett passed away peacefully on February 22, 2018. She was born in Portland, Oregon on March 15, 1934 to Donald Dubois Black and Elsie May (Crandall) Black. She lived in Wenatchee with her family through her teen years and was crowned the Apple Blossom Princess in 1952. After graduating from Wenatchee High School she moved to the Seattle area, where she attended Seattle Pacific University, and later University of Washington Business School. She began her long career in banking at Seafirst Bank and later Bank of America. Elsie became one of the first female Vice Presidents at Seafirst and eventually worked her way up to become Regional Manager of multiple branches. Elsie generously supported other women in their careers. She was a board member of the National Association of Bank Women. Elsie will be remembered for her classy style, for her care of others and her love of roller skating and travel. She is preceded in death by her husband William E. Bennett, her son David Bennett. She is survived by her son Perry (wife Ann) Bennett, her daughter Cyndy Lee Bennett (husband Mark Splan), her 7 grandchildren: Presley, Porsche (husband Jowed), Danielle (husband Jeff), Tyler, Troy, Shelby (husband Ray), Cheyenne (husband Blake), her 4 great-grandchildren: Robby, Delaney, Renee and Theodore. Elsie will be very missed.
