

Ernest (Ernie) Edward Templin passed away March 4, 2021 at the age of 91. He was born in Puyallup, Washington on May 13th, 1929 to Ernest and Anne Templin. He attended Pacific Lutheran College earning his Bachelor of Arts and teaching degree where he met and then married Arlene Wangensteen. He joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Sandia Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After his service Arlene and Ernie purchased a home in Edmonds, WA. He taught 6th grade at Lake City Elementary School until Arlene and Ernie purchased a new home in Seattle. He then taught 6th grade at Whittier Elementary School while at the same time was one of the first employees at the Northgate JC Penney store. Ernie was an active member and volunteer of Leif Erikson Lodge in Ballard, awarded Man of the Year in 2005, attended Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church and an American Legion Post 1 member. He loved fishing at Norway Park where he served as a board member for many years. Golfing was also one of his favorite hobbies. The biggest priority to Ernie was his family. He was always willing to stop and help whenever he was needed and loved the family gatherings. He is survived by his wife Arlene, daughter Victoria and husband Tim, son Bruce and wife Bev and son Kris. Granddaughter Lorri and husband Mike, Grandson Ryan and wife Teresa, Granddaughter Brandi and husband Cory, Granddaughter Kjersti, Grandson Nicholas and wife Samantha. Great Granddaughters Evelyn, Kamryn, Alyse and Emery, Great Grandsons Brandon, Tyler, Kaiden and Fisher. Also survived by sisters Mary, Nora, and brother Walt.
