

Frances M. Hinkle, 92, passed away March 13th in Seattle surrounded by family. She was born March 5, 1933, in Harbor City, California to William and Rachel (Osburn) Morris, as were siblings, Mary, Eunie, and Tommy. In 1944, the family moved to Arlington and soon thereafter to Seattle, where she lived for the rest of her life.
Frances attended Lincoln High School, where she especially enjoyed her art and French classes, graduating in 1951.
She became employed at the Federal Reserve Bank in Seattle, where she met the love of her life, John L. Hinkle. The couple married in 1955 and had four daughters; Catherine, Barbara, Susan, and Irene.
Frances and John devoted their lives to raising their family. They took regular vacations to West Coast beaches, national parks, Canada and Washington, D.C. They also took advantage of the proximity of the Cascade Mountains with weekend hiking and skiing adventures.
Frances enjoyed gardening and attending the symphony and opera frequently. She was a talented seamstress and cook.
More recently she delighted in spending time with her granddaughters, plying them with chocolate chip cookies and watching them grow. Frances thoroughly took pleasure in hearing about and encouraging their endeavors. She readily discussed current events with all. Frances was a loving mother and grandmother.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband John, of 48 years, her sister Mary Poulos and her brother Tommy Morris. She is survived by daughters Catherine Hinkle, Barbara Hinkle (Don Musikachart, deceased), Susan Hinkle (Doug Shae), and Irene Winters (Marc) and granddaughters Diandre Musikachart, Carriann Shae (Ryan Harrison), Elise Shae (Oliver Darcy), and Melina Winters. She is also survived by her sister and best friend Eunie Mae Dedo (Darrell, deceased) and numerous, wonderful nieces and nephews.
A private ceremony is planned.
