Rick was such a dear and cherished friend and had the biggest heart! I worked with him for years at MOHAI. I loved his stories and his steel trap mind for timelines, details, anniversaries, and birthdays. He was a fierce supporter of those he loved and cared for and and I am all the more fortunate for having had him in my life, and even more so as a friend. 

I love that Mary Halecki mentioned his "You could wash a man's suit" remark, as it was not an uncommon refrain which he deployed with perfect timing.   I most certainly have Rick-isms bouncing around in brain and that bubble up on more than the rare occasion. There are words I hear that echo in his voice, shows I watch that he loved and some he introduced me to. 

His video collection was legendary. I remember when The Sopranos  originally aired and he would tape and share the eposides as I didn't have cable TV. He loaned me favorite classic movies to watch and we would talk about how they resonated with him. He debated casting in remade classics, I recall a lengthy conversation around "A Christmas Carol" and Alastair Sim

I loved hearing about his nephews and their families and he was so proud and his heart was so full for them. He shared stories of friendships he held dear from decades and others that were cultivated through his lodge and his work at Evergreen-Washelli. I loved his stories about his parents, growing up in and around the family business, and some of his adventures in the world as a younger man.  He shared his heartbreak at the passing of his parents, and those he loved. I always thought his deep feelings were key in the services he did as a Mason  - and I know so little about them but what he shared made it clear that that brotherhood was deeply important to him. 

I absolutely cherish the touchstones that I have  from him, the cards he sent to my daughter and me. 

Rick will be deeply missed and I so wish I had the chance for one last coffee date, a few more stories, and a hug good bye.

Rick was a great friend.  I can't tell you how many times I kept him up late on the phone listening to my troubles (back in the day, it was always about relationship problems). When my cat needed to have an emergency visit to the vet, and I had no car at the time, he went out of his way to take us there. He never forgot a birthday or special event and always sent cards to my son on his birthday, Christmas and Halloween.  We had many a laugh over the years, and I can still hear him saying, "You can wash a man's suit, but you wouldn't!" He was a good man, a good friend, and he will be missed by so many.

Rick was a truly kind and thoughtful person whose caring nature touched everyone he worked with. His generosity, warm heart, and the way he always thought of others will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Rick was an exceptional colleague and friend whose compassion and professionalism touched so many families he cared for. His dedication as a Mason and his genuine concern for others will always be remembered. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and integrity that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Rest in peace, Rick.
