Rick was born Friday, February 13, 1953, to Mr. and Mrs. Frederick C. Becker, Sr. He is survived by his sister, 3 nephews, and their wives, 11 grandnephews and a sister-in-law. Following Rick’s graduation from Queen Anne High School in 1971, he started working for his parents’ family import-export business, Becker-Davison Corporation, until 1992. He then worked for the Museum of History and Industry and Select Comfort. Thereafter Rick dedicated the last 17 years of his career working in pre-need sales at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home and Cemetery until his retirement in July of 2025. He was a lifelong member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, MA, and regularly attended Christian Science services via Zoom at Twelfth Church, Seattle.
While working and during his retirement, he was an active, dedicated member of the Freemasons Seattle Lodge No. 16 and later, Eureka Lodge No. 20 when the two lodges merged. Rick was raised a Master Mason in February 1974, was a five-time Worshipful Master, received the Hiram Award in May 2021 for his outstanding work, and had served for over 20 years as Secretary at the time of his death.
Rick had an eye for style and always dressed professionally. His favorite passion outside of work, throughout his life, was that of acquiring unique collectibles. He was a wealth of knowledge on several topics, had a great sense of humor, and was a great teller of stories and jokes. He was also a connoisseur of classic movies of the 40’s through the 70’s evidenced by his vast DVD collection.
Rick’s life was filled with countless enjoyable experiences, overseas business trips, family vacations, and wonderful family holidays. Over the years, he acquired many close friends and touched their lives in special ways.
Rick will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, thoughtfulness, and generosity. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew him, but the memories of the good times will live on forever. May he rest in eternal peace and harmony.
Donations in Rick’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
Rick will be interred at Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park, Seattle, Washington.
