Dear George - We've been neighbors and friends for 20 years!  Your kindness and caring interest were always appreciated.  I will miss you - already do.  I think of you fondly and my thoughts and prayers are with your family who loved you very much.  joni

11 great years working with a gentleman, highliner, mentor and in some ways a dad. I could not have had a better friend, and, as luck would have it, it was in the fishing business we both love. I will never forget you and I wish your family all my best regards for now, when it is hardest, and in the future when your memory stays strong.

George was the consummate fisherman to the end, making his 'last delivery' of tuna fish to the employees here at Seamar.  He has forgotten more than I'll ever hope to know about salmon fishing.  He and my father Ray Haldane Sr. were close friends and fellow fisheremen, along with George's brother Gil.  He was very highly respected throughout the fishing community, in Alaska and in Washington State, and in other ports of call.  He will be greatly missed by all of us.  Having completed his season, he is now safely in port, and we all thank him for his knowledge and his support.  On behalf of the Haldane family, I remain

George was one of the good people ive had the pleasure of knowing.   i always felt  good  when he called me "pal".  that was really neat.
George was a good friend and a wonderful man.

I just wanted to let you know that your loss will be felt by all that knew George. He was a good friend. He always made time to talk and have a cup of coffee and maybe one too many doughnuts on Saturdays. That was my favorite time spent with George-- talking with him and all the guys that would show up on the weekends at the store. The stories and the good times, the coffee and doughnuts were just a plus--it was George and the friends he visted that made it a great place and I feel so lucky to have been welcome.

This note is difficult to write as our level of love and respect for Uncle George is hard to measure with simple words. George was a man who formed wonderful, warm relationships with his extended family. We loved and cared for this gentle soul and will keep his memory in our hearts forever. May our love and prayers reach out to my dear Auntie Hazel and special cousins Linda, Sandy, Susie and George III. We cry with you in your sorrow and laugh with you remembering the good times. George  was a  long time friend and co-worker.  He was a wonderful man, good sense of humor and hard worker.  We will all miss him.

You were always there to help,a real true friend. And the unforgettable memories from Steamboat Bay where our families spent the summers together for many years.

It is difficult to put into words our families feelings for George.  All of us from my father, mother, sister,Jeri  and my children were blessed to consider him a friend.  The help & kindness he gave all of us is a memory we will all hold dear.
