my parents Clyde and Lela Deardorff. After graduating from Santa Ana High in 1941 I went to the University of Redlands, became a
teacher and took a high school job in nearby Riverside, Ca.
I married my college "heart-throb" in 1949. We lived in Sierra Madre, Ca. until our move to Seattle in 1956 with 2 small children.
While Les set up his business connections I integrated into the community with Seattle Newcomers Club, Crown Hill PTA, Jackson
Jills Ladies Golf Club. I did part time accounting work between golf and duplicate bridge.
For 30 years, we spent most week-ends at Whidbey Island golfing, fishing, and canning the product. Les and I both worked with
the Beverly Beach Community to install an approved community water system. We had many fun golf trips in US, Canada, Mexico
and Hawaii. Les passed away in 2012 after a short illness. Surviving are our daughter Sandra (Walt), and our son John (Kari), of
whom I am very proud. Surviving also are three beautiful Monsen granddaughters Megan, Allison and Emily. All are graduating
from WWU this year.
There will be no formal service. Bridge players please have a big gala with lots of 2Club bids.
The family wishes to thank the amazing staff at Northwest Hospital for the care they provided Glenna.
