Hazel Marino Cruz

Cruz, at the age of 58. Hazel has gone home to be with our Lord and Savior where she will be

reunited with her parents Honorario D. Yango and Luz M. Yango. Thank you, God, for blessing

us with the fun-loving, lively, and colorful spirit that was Hazel. She will be sorely missed to all

those that call her a sister, mother, grandmother, partner, and friend.

Hazel was born in Los Banos of the Laguna province in the Philippines, but spent much of her

childhood growing up on Vashon Island after her parents moved to Washington state in the U.S.

She worked as an Operations Lead at Cenveo manufacturing company alongside her partner,

David Hughey, with whom she resided in Kent, Washington.

Hazel always made sure everyone in her family was well-fed and taken care of with her

delicious cooking. She had a green thumb for taking care of a garden full of flowers and plants.

She lit up the room with her laugh and her jokes--truly, she was the life of the party, always

dancing at family gatherings. She was strong-willed, feisty, and loud--never afraid to voice her

opinions. She loved to impart her wisdom and advice to her three sons and grandchildren.

Hazel is survived by her life partner: David Hughey; her siblings: Henry M. Yango, Maria M.

Petheram, Harry M. Yango, Homer M. Yango, Herminio M. Yango; her children: Edward Yango

Cruz Jr., Angelo Joseph Cruz, Michael Amor Guerzon Jr.; her grandchildren: Jodesi Edward

Ramos Cruz, Ajavion Cruz, Jaydin Edward Cruz, Alexander Cruz; and many more nieces and

nephews.

Hazel Cruz has led by example with regards to fiercely protecting her loved ones, exhibiting

unparalleled generosity, and all meanwhile letting loose and having fun. She has left a strong

example and an everlasting impression for those she is survived by.
