

Hosea was born in Natchez, Mississippi to the union of Sandy and Laura Briggs. He was one of 14 children that were born to their union.
He enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II as a driver. After leaving the military he later moved to Seattle, Washington where he met his first wife Juanita Jones. To their union two daughters were born.
Hosea had various jobs and later retired from Boeing. After retiring he and his wife Ammie moved to Moses Lake, Washington where he resided until his passing. He was well respected in his community and was loved by all who knew him. He was a noted outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and camping. His sense of humor, hand-clapping while laughing, and raspy voice, made him the life of the party. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents Sandy and Laura Briggs, his devoted wife Ammie and all 13 siblings.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters Debra L. Smith, Bernita Briggs and Essie Mae Chambers (Dan) all of Seattle, Washington, grandchildren Tessa L. Chambers, Rhonda R. Chambers, Wilson L. Chambers Jr., Terrance D. Chambers (Esrenee), Dennis D. Chambers (Shenica), Chapale Briggs, Nicole Saint Claire (Nathan), and Rashawd Battles, First Lady Barbara and Pastor Fred L. Richmond Sr. of Racine, Wisconsin, Hosea Thomas and Markes Thomas of Natchez, Mississippi, and very special friend Joann Johnson of Moses Lake, Washington, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
