A native Washingtonian, Jim was part of the University of Washington class of 1941. There he met and married his wife, Joy. Jim was commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy seven weeks before Pearl Harbor. During the war, he served on destroyers and mine sweepers in the North Atlantic, Mediterranean and Pacific. Jim was mobilized to active service during the Korean conflict. He remained active in the Naval Reserve and was promoted to Captain in 1961.
Jim was a Certified Life Underwriter the majority of his career. He later served as Public Information Supervisor for the King County Department of Assessments.
He loved dancing, poetry and sunshine.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Debbie Kozelisky(Steve), Sharon Merryfield(Dan), three grandchildren, Camarie Collier, Jarrett Kozelisky, and Janna Annest(Dino), and three great grandchildren, Tylr, Riley and Leo.
