Ms. Scott was born April 22, 1919 in Tacoma and raised in Yakima. She lived most of her life in Washington State, except for a period in the 1940s and 50s when she worked in Hollywood with another Washington native, film star Ella Raines. After returning to Seattle, she worked with the Red Cross before retiring and devoting the last thirty years of her life to her many interests, including volunteer work at the Intiman Theatre. She became a Trustee of the theatre in 1974, two years after its founding, and remained on the board until her death. Ms. Scott adored theatre and movies, never losing her love for Hollywood. An outspoken, generous, passionate woman with a keen intelligence and an irreverent wit, she was also a gourmet cook and an avid sports fan. Ms. Scott was predeceased in November 1998 by her longtime companion, Marilyn Warner, also a Trustee of Intiman Theatre. No immediate family members survive. She requested no service or funeral, but a memorial service will be held in early summer at Intiman Theatre. Remembrances may be made to the Marilyn Warner Fund, c/o Intiman Theatre, PO Box 19760, Seattle WA. 98119. The fund supports artists' salaries.
