Joan Hazel Adams… one of the best people to ever live. Preceded by her parents, Parke Lewis and Patricia Louise Adams, as well as her younger sister Patty. Survived by her sister Carol LeClercq, and untold family, who consider themselves blessed to know her.
Joan was born in Seattle, Washington. She spent valuable time in Juneau, AK, doing work for the state, before returning to Seattle to oversee a department within the UW school of dentistry. She made lifelong friends there.
If anyone ever tells you that you can’t win people over with love, or make the world better, don’t believe them. She was a second mother to all her nieces and nephews, and a perfect example of how to live your life. An amazing sister, daughter, and sister-in-law. If you met her, she almost assuredly loved you, and you knew it. If you met her, you definitely loved her. Her laugh, and smile were magical. She absolutely loved cows, but she hated mean bees!
Her faith was so strong that in the end, she would console the people who would miss her. She wasn’t worried about where she would end up, and was happy to know she would be greeting old family again soon. Family saw that her final days were comfortable. She was a shining example of how to live a life, as well as how to change chapters, when the time came.
Thank you, Joan, for who you were, what you did, and the rock you always have been. You live on in a better place, and left behind an example of love and grace. Nobody is going to forget you, ever.
