Joanne Frances Ellegaard, age 85, of Edmonds, Washington passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024. Joanne was born on June 22, 1939 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Theodore and Mona Lindeman. She grew up in Key West, Florida and Seattle, Washington. Joanne graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957.
She spent many years involved in Job’s Daughters and was the Grand Guardian of Washington state from 1988 to 1989. Joanne had a late career in the food brokerage business before she retired in 2003. Joanne enjoyed spending time with family, friends and her partner, James. She loved thrift store shopping, selling her many ‘finds’ on eBay, gardening, casino trips, her Free Little Library, and all the neighborhood cats who came by for food.
Joanne is survived by her partner James, son Jim (Sherri), daughter Tammy (Stace), grandchildren Jesse (Amber), Madalyn (Mike), Jacob (Emily), Kyle (Isabel), Sabina and Sophia, great-grandchildren Ellie, River, Hudson and Rory. Rest In Peace, MamaEyes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to paws.org (Progressive Animal Welfare Society) in Joanne's memory.
A private celebration of life will be held on January 31, 2025.
