John Michael Meaney, age 66 died peacefully on August 16th, 2011 in Seattle. John is survived by his wife, Patricia Tinker; children Shannon Meaney-Kanis, Christopher Meaney, Allison Meaney and Joel Day. John spent 33 years at King County as a 911 dispatcher and was featured on "Rescue 911" after talking a caller out of committing suicide. John was also a longshoreman (ILWU Local 19), worked at Longacres and was a Vietnam veteran who served in the Marine Corps.
