John "Jim" D. Pearson Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on January 8, 2026. He is survived by his beloved wife, Yoko, of Shoreline, WA and two daughters, Dawn Lynch and Sandy Sadeghi, both of Pennsylvania.
Jim was a career pilot and proficient in all kinds of aircraft, spanning from small aircraft to 747's. In fact, his first love was to fly airplanes. In his young age he learned how to fly airplanes and all his life it was his true vocation until he retired. He started as a crop dusting pilot in Delaware and joined the Marines during the Korean War. He got a job as an invisible air force pilot and flew from Laos during Vietnam war to fight against communism. After Saigon fell, he worked as chief pilot station manager at Rosenbalm Aviation which took him to Pakistan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. During that time he flew 747, he loved and mastered that machine. Jim was a true gentleman, a very kind, thoughtful man. One of his friends said that “Jimmy is like melting butter.”
He had a long life and throughout his life he flew all over the world to many interesting countries. He spent life together with his Yoko for almost 58 years. She and his many friends will miss him very much. A Church Memorial Service is planned for Spring 2026.
