
Joe was born September 13, 1941 in Northport, WA. and died peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on January 13, 2008 of congestive heart failure at Virginia Mason Hospital. Joe graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1960 and enlisted in the US Air Force shortly afterwards. After his military service, Joe entered the medical field as a Surgical Tech, working at Swedish Hospital and Valley Medical Center. Joe met and married the love of his life Lynn, in 1970. After his second by-pass surgery in 1991, Joe was forced to retire, had many major medical problems, but always bounced back. Some say he was a walking miracle, and had a great will to live. His final miracle will be with his Lord in Heaven. Joe’s interests included playing golf a passion, reading, going to church, where he served on many committees and activities. He enjoyed going to Hawaii every year to play golf and always purchase Hawaiian shirts to add to his collection. Joe was a compassionate, loving, kind and gentle man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Lynn of Seattle; step-mother, Elsie Chapman; brothers, Lawrence Germa Chapman and Gary Vicki Chapman; half-brothers, Robert Susan Chapman and Jim McArthur; half-sisters, Margaret Bill Mader, Rose Waller and Rhonda Smith; Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his family of friends. Graveside Service Saturday, January 19, 1:00PM; Evergreen Memorial Park 11111 Aurora Ave N. Seattle. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00PM; Woodland Park United Methodist Church, 302 N. 78th St. Seattle.
