Julie Ann Nielsen

She was born on July 20, 1968, in Port Angles, Washington, the eldest of two daughters born to Charles and Mary Kiel.

She was raised in Anacortes, Washington, where she attended Anacortes Elementary and High School, graduating in 1986. She then enrolled at the University of Washington where she met and married her husband, Drew Nielsen. She graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and accepted a job in management at the Everett Golf and Country Club, eventually becoming Club Manager. After working at that club for 13 years, Julie became the General Manager for the Sandpoint Country Club in Seattle, where she served until December 31, 2006.

Julie had a great love for people and was passionate in her customer service beliefs during her employment at clubs. She loved her family with all her heart and cherished the time spent together at their lake property in Chelan. She was a people-person who was well known for bringing smiles to their faces and happiness to their hearts. She had a strong faith in our Lord. Her hobbies and interests included motivational speaking and teaching, golf, entertaining, photography, home decorating, traveling, cooking, and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Drew; daughter, Katlyn; son, Andrew; mother, Mary Kiel; sister, Christine Jurkovich; in-laws, Michael and Gloria Nielsen; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

A viewing will be offered from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Wednesday and Thursday, September 26 and 27, at the Washelli Funeral Home located at 18224 103rd Ave NE, Bothell, Washington.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2007, at the Mukilteo Presbyterian Church located at 4514 84th St. SW, Mukilteo, Washington.

A private interment will be held at the Grandview Cemetery in Anacortes.
