Ken was born in Seattle to Eugene and Miyeko Mochizuki. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1972 and University of Washington in 1976. After graduation, Ken lived in Los Angeles for five years before returning to the Seattle area, where he married Merry Terao in 2005. Ken passed away at the age of 71 in Maple Valley, WA.
Ken was a lifelong storyteller - as an actor, musician, journalist and author. He had a passion for telling the Japanese American and Asian Pacific American stories that often went untold. Ken is survived by his brothers, James (Susan) and Alan (Stacey); nephews Aaron, Nathan and Tyler; and niece Sydney. He was predeceased by his wife, Merry, and his parents, Eugene and Miyeko.
