Avid world traveler Kent Joseph Bozlinski was born in Englewood, Colorado. Kent attended Arapahoe High School outside of Denver and was a member of the band and chess club. He graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in film. He was an enthusiastic participant in the college ski team, played the tuba and saxophone, and founded a Theta Xi fraternity chapter with his friend Greg. Additionally, he studied Film Production at the University of Southern California and Database Management at the University of Washington.
Kent escaped Los Angeles in October of 2002, in the same month that his future wife Julia escaped New York. They each moved to Seattle, met at the corner of Olive and Denny, and got married at Kubota Gardens on June 8th, 2013. Kent had careers in several industries – he produced “Good Time Golf,” a travel show, with his Uncle George. He traveled to Norway to build a high-definition streaming hardware system for the National Theatre and the Oslo Opera House. Most recently, he worked as a roofing and water envelope field inspector with Wetherholt and Associates, Inc, where he liked being an integral part of the small company and taking in great views from the rooftops.
Kent was gregarious, kind, adventurous, smart, and devoted to his loved ones. He was a numismatist, Burner, trophy winning martial artist, scuba diver, atheist, rock climber, and master of debate. With a spirit of fearlessness, friendliness, and gratitude, he flew on standby with his family flight benefits whenever he could. He found inspiration throughout the world as he explored over 35 different countries, making lifelong friends on mountaintops, in Olympic stadiums, and park benches alike. Kent was a thoughtful, complex, intense man of many talents and interests whose presence positively impacted countless lives. He valued his friends, brought a provocative presence to parties, and cultivated numerous significant relationships. His hearty laugh echoes in our hearts.
Kent is survived by his wife Julia Trimarco, partner Leah Duncan, father Gary Lee Bozlinski, mother June Elchinger Rose, sister Krista (Tad) Kostycz, a large extended family, and numerous friends across the globe.
