
Larry J. Lee was born on March 11, 1934 in Huron, South Dakota to Louise Mueller Lee and Oliver Clarence Lee. He died peacefully in the presence of loving family on October 6, 2017. He attended schools in Duluth, Minnesota and graduated from Central High School in Crookston, Minnesota. He received his degree in Music Education from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota.
Larry served in the U. S. Navy as a pilot. He then settled in Seattle and worked in the retail music business. He met Betsy McCurdy and they were married in Port Townsend, Washington in 1960. After many years in the music business he developed a successful custom cabinet business working with architects and interior designers.
Larry was an avid pilot, sailor, skier, fly fisherman and musician, playing the French horn in many musical groups in the Northwest. He especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends, construction projects, boating, shrimping and crabbing at the cabin at Beckett Point on Discovery Bay near Port Townsend.
Larry was preceded in death by his sons Jason Andrew Lee and Charles Winslow Lee and his sister, Marilyn Lee Neary of California. He is survived by his loving wife, Betsy Lee, his daughter, Cassandra Lee McGee of Sugar Land, Texas, his daughter-in-law, Lisa A. Lee and his grandsons Winslow Thomas Lee and Turner Lawrence Lee. He is also survived by his sisters Olive Lee LaViolette of California and Anita Lee Cicmil of Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Larry's life will occur later this fall.
