

Leslie graduated from Sumner High School in Sumner, Washington. He went on to serve as a combat radio operator for the U.S. Marine Corps Artillery. He served in World War II, in the South Pacific including the entire battle of Iwo Jima. After serving in the Marine Corp, Les became an installer for Western Electric where he worked for 40 years.
Leslie volunteered at the Communications Museum (now the Connections Museum) for 39 years. It was his passion. He was a long-time member of First Christian Church where he and his wife, Dorothy, raised their children and sang in the choir. Les held every position of leadership while attending. Leslie’s hobbies included music and electronics. He was a world traveler and known as “Mr. Fixit.”
Les is predeceased by his spouse, Dorothy M. Anderson and his son William J. Anderson.
He is survived by his children Kathleen Benson (Jay), Dana Anderson, David Anderson, Celeste Peterson, and Stephen Anderson (Kathleen) and grandkids, great grandkids, nephews and nieces who he treasured and who treasured him.
Leslie was laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. A virtual Celebration of Life was also held.
