Linda Diane Odegaard

Funeral services for Linda Diane Odegaard, 55, of Tioga, ND, will be Saturday, March 3, 2001, at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Tioga. Rev. Bob Lee will officiate and burial will take place on May 5, 2001 at 10:30 AM at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue, WA.

Linda was born February 25, 1946, at Bottineau, ND, the daughter of Reuben F. and Joyce A. Vikan Guttormson. She was baptized on April 14, 1946 at First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. The family moved to Ray, ND when she was young and she attended elementary school there. She was confirmed at Ray Lutheran Church in May, 1960. They moved to Tioga in 1962 and Linda graduated from Tioga High School in 1964. She continued her education at St. Andrew School of Nursing in Bottineau and graduated cum laude on June 1, 1969. She returned to Tioga and worked at the Tioga Hospital as a Registered Nurse.

On August 24, 1969, she was united in marriage with Stephen Odegaard at Zion Lutheran Church in Tioga. She worked at Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis while her husband was in his last year of seminary there. They moved to Hatton, ND and she was employed at Hatton Retirement Home. Stephen and Linda moved to Olympia, WA where she worked at St. Peter's Hospital, and then at Cascade Vista Nursing Home

in Redmond, WA. They then moved to Fertile, MN where she was employed at Fertile Retirement Home.

Moving to Eugene, OR, Linda was the Director of Nursing at Beverly Nursing Home. They made their home in Kent, WA befoe moving to Tioga on August 15, 1987.

Linda died at Trinity Medical Center in Minot on Tuesday, February 27, 2001.

She was an honorary life member of the Women's Missionary Federation. She was an active member of the community and the congregations of Norman and Beaver Creek Lutheran Churches and was loved by many.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Stephen Odegaard of Tioga, ND; two sons, Kevin of Seattle, WA and David of Redmond, WA; her parents, Reuben and Joyce Guttormson of Bottineau, ND; four brothers and two sisters, Ron Guttormson of Minneapolis, MN, Louise Suko of Olympia, WA, Jim Guttormson and his wife , Cheryl of Bismark, ND, Gary Guttormson of Olympia, WA, Debra Nicholson and her husband, Jack of Bend, OR, Tom Guttormson and his wife, Kathy of Brooklyn Center, MN; mother-in-law, Twyla Odegaard of Redmond, WA; brother-in-law, Tom Odegaard and his wife, Bonnie of Preston, WA; 16 nieces and nephews; and two great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Edwin Odegaard, a sister-in-law, Vonnie Guttormson, and infant twin brother and sister, Michael and Marilyn.

Friends may call at Fulkerson Funeral Home in Tioga on Friday fron 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM and for one hour before service time at the church on Saturday.
